Prince to join Scientology cult
Grammy award winning recording artist Prince was last night seen attending a Scientology seminar. Sources close to the artist say that he has grown “disillusioned with his current religion and is looking for more personal and musical freedom.” Prince, 50 a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses for 8 years, seen selling copies of the Watchtower magazine to members of the public on various occasions was recently spotted with strange ink markings scrawled across his face – reminiscent of his infamous battle with Warner Brothers. Eyewitnesses claim the face markings say “Miscavige”, the name of the current leader of the Scientology religion.
Anger
Although Princes relationship with his local congregation has been good, word has it that the governing body – the head of the Jehovah’s Witness religion, were not impressed with his recent performance at London’s O2 arena. Many Jehovah’s Witnesses attending were shocked to see Prince dancing seductively with women. Many of the songs he performed promoted fornication, and his wardrobe was not that of a “Christian publisher”
Bill Sanders, an elder from the Lewisham congregation in South London said, “I was shocked, outraged and stumbled by his performance. I will be writing a stern letter to Bethel (local headquarters) demanding an immediate judicial meeting be held”
Lisa Partnage, a full time pioneer (evangelizer) was offended by Princes androgynous appearance. “A man wearing high heels and makeup promotes homosexuality.” She sobbed. “Prince must know that gays are an abomination to Jehovah, so why he chooses to dress like one is a mystery to me. I feel like my faith has been shaken…I need to pray for him”
Scientology
Scientology, criticized in the press recently for its brainwashing techniques, has been outlawed in many European countries. Its most famous follower, Tom Cruise, had a private video leaked onto YouTube showing the actor talking passionately about his faith. The theme tune to his Mission Impossible film was added for comic effect.
A spokesman for the Minneapolis branch of Scientology made the following statement, “The Artist currently known as Prince has made a few enquires into our beliefs and doctrines. No monies have been exchanged so technically, he isn’t a member yet”
Rumours that Prince was about to re-release a remixed version of his 2004 hit album “Musicology” with the title track renamed to “Scientology” was found on internet fan websites.

If he has to go through all this to find out what it is about...then so be it...he could have chosen just to have a decent psychotherapy for 3 years..would have been cheaper and more healthy...and he would look like a lost person...but I doubt that this is real news...and the JW should just make him go...why did they allow him in anyway? He is an artist and an artist doesn't need all these boundaries of religion...

February 16th, 2008 at 01:34 AM I was involved with scientology for many years. Their ethics are very good. The deeper you get involved in scientology you find it splits from their ethics. There is a money making side and the religion side. Their accounting and organisational methods are in stark contrast to their ethics to the point of, if you are staff, you will find you are totally subject to their anger, covert hostility and non belief in responding within their own code of ethics. Prince is smart and will see this eventually. If any of this is true, he will soon see how scientology controls the actions and emotions of their workers as opposed to the way they treat their followers. When you make the shift from follower to worker you see a contradiction in just about all its ethics. If you question their ethics you are thrown out and ostrisised by the very people that offered spiritual awakening and freedom and have no way to offer that view to their following by the workers. Scientology was foundered by a science fiction writer, that is a fact. The fact that is just fiction.
February 16th, 2008 at 03:14 AM maybe Prince finally realized he would never make any money in the music business if he kept on bible thumping. his shows in london were awesome for a lot of reasons, but mainly because he's trying to find a comfortable medium between the Prince of the 80's and the 50 year old Prince of today. He longs to play songs like Head and Darling Nikki at least one more time before he's done, and i personally long to hear those songs live. also, i hope this is a final goodbye to the Larry Graham era of Prince. Larry ruined his career in every way imaginable. not only with biblethumping, but also by making him play washed up soul songs by washed up artists in lieu of the dirty hits we know and love. But the main point here is he is disillusioned with the Jehovah Witnesses. Bottom line GOD is One, Mankind is One. Our purpose here is to establish a heaven on earth based on Divine Law. However a person is free to express themselves as long as they are not physically hurting others; especially as an artist.
